The rich history and heritage of the Acadians was held safe in their songs.

After their expulsion from Ils Ste. Jean in 1748 the songs of the Acadians were a lifeline connecting the French settlers to their forbidden heritage and culture. Through the past 150 years the vibrant folk music of Acadia has communicated joy and heartache at celebrations and commemorations. Carefully preserved, these songs will continue in perpetuity to conjure connections with history and tradition.

The stories of Prince Edward Island shared through song since the Charlottetwn Conference in 1864
